The result is sealed in a bundle with an Ed25519 signature and an RFC 3161 timestamp, with a report in text and PDF.

You start from the VAT number or tax code and obtain the company record as the source declares it: name, legal form, registered office, activity status, economic activity codes, dates, and — where present — balance-sheet figures for recent years.

The bundle preserves the source's full response exactly as it arrived, with its fingerprint: the report's tables are a reading convenience, the proof is that. Anyone contesting a value can go back to the source rather than trusting our rendering.

A stated limit is worth more than a claim of completeness — and it goes into the report too, not just onto this page.

🔴 It is not a chamber-of-commerce extract, and the report does not replace one. It is the record a company-data source exposes, sealed at the moment it was queried. If an official chamber document is needed, it must be requested there.

For Italian companies the source does not deliver net equity at all. We say so because we have been there: a suggestively named field, which the official specification defines as “annual profit”, had been read as equity — and one report showed a company's operating loss as “net equity”. Every field is now read against the official definition of its schema, never against its name.

An empty result is a result, and it is charged. If the source searches and finds nothing, the query still happened. If instead the source does not answer at all, no bundle is produced and nothing is charged: better no bundle than a bundle that lies.

How does this differ from an official company extract?

The official extract is a document issued by the chamber of commerce, with its own value and cost. This is a sealed finding: it fixes what a company-data source declared about that company at a precise moment, with a signature and a timestamp. They serve different purposes, and the report says so plainly.

If the company is not found, am I still charged?

Yes, because the search happened and it cost the source. It is a useful fact, moreover: “at that date that VAT number did not appear” is a finding, and it is sealed as such. If instead the source does not answer at all — network down, provider error — nothing is charged.
